Where to find the best chicago style deep dish pizza in Southern California...

Is there a place or places in Southern California that offer next to the best real-thing Chicago style deep dish pizza?

  1. Best I've had in these parts is at Chicago Pasta House in Moreno Valley. It's spot on, and well worth the hour + drive from Pasadena at least once a year.

    1. Masa in Echo Park is pretty good.

And although it's not Chicago style, if it the cornmeal crust you go for, you should try Zelo's in Arcadia (not deep dish, but really interesting cornmeal crust pizza).

You do know that Masa's deep dish pizza has a cornmeal crust, right?

      2. This is a popular subject round here, with Chicago Pasta House being #1 but far away, and Tony's Little Italy in Placentia being #2.

        1. I tried Tony's Little Italy once and thought it was worth the drive. Frankly, I thought it was better than the deep dish pizza at several renowned pizza places in Chicago, but I don't have a high opinion of them.

I also second the recommendation for Zelo in Arcadia, which is my favorite pizza of any kind in the Los Angeles area.
