Thanks so much Katie. Antico Arco is on my list, so i'll definitely consider going there on that Sun. Luckily I got reservation at Colline Emaliane for Sunday lunch after the Borghese Gallery. Am working on other reservations and just can't wait to dine!

Correct. L'Asino d'Oro is closed Sunday night and Monday. You're right--Sunday night is really tough. Taverna dei Fori Imperiali and Urbana 47 are alright choices in a pinch (be sure to book at the former) but they are no Agata e Romeo. Pastificio San Lorenzo isnt quite there either, but it's a 5 minute cab ride from the Opera and the food and atmosphere are nice...and if you want a really stellar meal on a Sunday night, there is always Antico Arco, though that is across the river and on the Janiculum Hill (15 minutes by cab).

I can suggest a few places, all in Monti, so about a 10 minute walk from the Opera
Taverna dei Fori Imperiali, Via Madonna dei Monti 9 : family run trattoria.
L'Asino D'Oro, Via Boschetto 73 newly opened, more creative take on Roman and central Italian cooking
Urbana 47, locavore and mostly organic place, with a great atmosphere. All of these are open on Sunday.
