Interview with Carla Hall (no spoilers)

http://www.ology.com/screen/exclusive...

Interesting her comments on the much debated "boys club" issue:

"Even when a woman is sort of accepted, it's like 'Oh, here's a woman who's accepted into the boys club'...as opposed to being just the club of chefs."

I enjoyed the interview with Dale on that site, too (it's linked at the top of the Carla interview). Interesting statement about Marcel; he says they're friecdly and that he didn't want them to work together not because he had a problem with Marcel, but because he knew that because of their working style, they wouldn't work harmoniously together. Has stuff to say about the dim sum challenge, and not helping others, too.

"I think Fabio made the comment on his blog that he doesn’t feel that Tiffany, Antonia and myself know anything other than comfort food."

oh really? Mr Gnocchi said that? please.

      thanks for posting this, Ruth!

Just saying "Interview with Carla Hall" IS a spoiler. Any Top Chef follower knows ther are only exit interviews. Thanks not, *sniff*

Considering it was posted before the episode even aired, how could it be a spoiler? And there are no spoilers in the interview.

@Quine, not necessarily. Isabella did an interview with a Philadelphia station that aired *weeks* ago.

Yes, I think the usual procedure where the cheftestants aren't available for interviews until after they are eliminated hasn't been in force for "all stars" -- perhaps because they are now public figures who have been giving interviews all along. *Preventing* them from giving interviews would be spoilers!

Did anyone order cookies from her yet?

It's called alchemy by carla hall. She's only two hours from me and gives classes!

The cookies are reasonable, I think I'm going to try them.

they do sound reasonable, and delicious - especially the savory ones. i'll probably order some soon.

I ordered some cookies this morning, couldn't resist. I went all out, large tins of both savory and sweet. I'll report back when they arrive.

I was thinking of two tins as well. Please let me know how you like them! :)

thanks, Ruth I love that interview so much! And I like the fact she addressed the -obvious to some of us- issue of gender amongst the chefs
