House at Secret Garden

Attended the Slow Food Phoenix event at The House at Secret Garden tonight... Amazing food, beautiful setting. Open since October, I highly suggest you try it out. Sweet potato planks are amazing. Homemade pasta was terrific. Had the Shrimp and Grits at the beer for brains event a couple of weeks ago. Just spicy enough. Great job Chef Christofolo and team.

I also have to give a shout out to the Slow Food Phoenix team and Wendall from Crow's Dairy who brought his super delicious goat's cheese.

    I would like to put the word out about their Tuesday Tastings, too -- they come up with a list of notables and pour them at $3 for a *generous* 3-oz pour, every week. Last time I tried a non-vintage Dribble Creek (new AZ winery) that is suddenly being snapped up for wine lists around town.

    Really, even if it weren't just about the prettiest patio setting in town, the food and wine put it on my short list. Great place to while away a weekend afternoon; I have been known to show up solo with a paperback and camp out for a few hours.
