Luna Azul

Anyone try Luna Azul in Brattleboro yet?

Apparently they're open, however, when I walked down Flat St the other day and looked at their bldg there was no sign up. Here's the web site: http://www.lunaazulvt.com/index.html

The menu looks good and I'm keen to check it out...

Had dinner there a few weeks ago and the food was really tasty. I think that they are basically serving Mexican street food and deconstructing it and/or serving refined versions on lovely plates but its basis (at least for the dishes we ordered) is street food. Fish tacos were yummy, crispy with a cabbage slaw and pickled red onion. Deconstructed pulled pork tacos also very tasty and layed out beautifully on the plate with slices of avocado and pickled red onion and some crumbled cotija. It was just hard for us to pay top dollar for prettified street food, but I recognize that a Main St address is high rent and don't begrudge too much. It just means that we will only eat there very occasionally.

Cocktails were delicious, however, one pet peeve of mine is when Mexican restaurants serve margaritas that are ordered on the rocks on those ridiculous shallow bowl shaped glasses that are clearly better suited to frozen drinks. A margarita ordered on the rocks should be served in a rocks glass in my opinion.

I would skip dessert next time; they aren't really worth the calories or the cost. I've had much better Tres Leches and the chocolate cake made with Mexican chocolate was dry.

Definitely more hits than misses but too pricey for frequent visits...
