O.C. Treasures.....?

Haven't been out in a while, what's new & good (...or underrated) in O.C.: breakfast, lunch, dinner, bakeries, delis etc. (all price ranges and cuisines) that a CH should try now?

Not new but a favorite: Zinc (Laguna and Corona del Mar). Also, True Food Kitchen at Fashion Island is both healthy/healthyish and really good.

Sol del Sur in San Juan Capistrano. I can't give menu recommendations because the menu changes so often. Just go, and plan on a leisurely dinner. Don't expect to rush out in an hour and a half.

Grampy Pat's sourdough bread, available at Gallery on Glassell in the Orange Circle. Friday through Sunday only.

Grampy Pat's...just had some last night (purchased at Wine Exchange).

It's the BEST bread I've ever eaten, and by a long shot! It's delicious at room temp slathered with Plugra and sprinkled with sea salt. Heaven.

P.S. I gave some to a neighbor who stopped me and raved about it. So rare to find something so good so close to home! Now if he can also make some killer bacon!

There's quite a buzz about Taco Asylum nowadays...
