Orlando Convention Center -- nearby dinner options

b

I will be staying at the Hilton adjacent to the Orlando Convention Center and am looking for a good quality, but casual dinner option with a few colleagues. One person is a vegetarian, so an option that provides a good dinner for that person would be great.

Not concerned with cost, but good food of any cuisine and not too stuffy in atmosphere -- casual preferred.

Thanks,

Check that thread - I've been here for over a week and have used it for a number of restaurants, most of which were worth the drive. You're right at International Drive so look at the recommendations for the I-Drive area. The others are mostly a short cab ride. I don't think there are very many "stuffy" places in an area as "touristy" as Orlando!

Check out Le Rouge, Cedar, Amura, Press 101, etc over on Sand Lake near Dr Phillips. None really struck me as "stuffy", but they are somewhat upscale spots...

I've been to City Fire on Sand Lake a few times since it opened a couple of weeks ago, it's a winner. Tasted everything from the nuttty Cheesy salad, stuffed pepper, vesuvious chicken, to the filet, all have been very good and reasonably priced. Upscale non stuffy atmosphere.

          great suggestions so far.

There is also Cafe Tu Tu Tango. It's fun and tapas style.

If your looking for something a little more ethnic with veggie options perhaps Nile Ethiopian or an Indian restaurant, which there are many in the area, my favs are Memories of India, Aashiward and New Punjab.

I also had lunch recently at the newly opened Saffron which is good and has veggie dishes. it's a bit trendier and less tradition but we had a good meal there and it fits into the space since it's next door to Le Rouge.

Is it the same owners as Le Rouge? crazy, so many solid restaurants in that area...
