Nephew attends U of D. Anything near campus chow worthy?
Favorite nephew attends University of Delaware. Is there anything close to campus that's really good? In the mood for tapas/small tastes. We're not sparked by the burger craze, but any cuisine is fine with us. Thanks to you all!

I really enjoy the Stone Ballon Winehouse - especially anything made with the housemade bacon. For small plates i like the quail, beet salad and salmon salad. I must say that I prefer the small plates to a regular main course - the small plates seem to be prepared with more thought.

I agree with travelmad on the suggestions for you. I also like Sinclairs Cafe on Main Street for a good breakfast. They usually have specials too. Driving into Wilmington would be your best bet for a good dinner and isn't a hassle at all to do.

Newark is, if anything, an even harder place to find good chow than Wilmington, but there are a few options. There is a tapas place, Ole Tapas (http://www.oletapaslounge.com/). Home Grown Cafe is not bad (http://www.homegrowncafe.com/) but I wouldn't really go out of my way to eat there--it is a music venue, so that's the draw, more than the food. Stone Balloon Winehouse gets some mentions but I was not particularly blown away when I ate there. There are a couple of Vietnamese places (Saigon and Little Saigon) and a Korean place, Korean BBQ.
Newark is very much a college town, and it is pretty geared toward student-quality and student-priced food. If you are ready to drive 20-30 minutes, there are more good places to eat in Wilmington. Please do a search; there are many threads on this board about restaurants in the area. Fair Hill Inn, in nearby Elkton, is also worth a try.
