Source for sorrel?

judith2b Mar 7, 2011 09:44 AM

I found a thread from 2007 with some suggestions for where to find sorrel, but I'm hoping that I don't have to wait a few months until the farmers markets open. Any ideas? (And thanks, but spinach plus lemon juice won't do.)

    see http://www.seattlefarmersmarkets.org/

University, Ballard, and West Seattle operate year-round.
Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays there's local organic produce at the Pike Place market, and you may even find plant-starts. You might even be able to find a bunch of Sorrel you can root and grow.
Buy starts of many culinary sorrels at the Seattle Tilth plant sale in Spring.

Whole Foods on Roosevelt usually has it alongside all of the other fresh herbs.

If you keep an eye out it pops up now and again in the little plastic containers in the herb sections of grocers like Metropolitan Market. Pricey for the amount.
