Wings... A twist on an old Favourite...

Connoisseur Mar 7, 2011 05:44 AM

Although we have a lot of chains dedicated to wings.... It occured to me that we could improve those threads. think it would be great to add a little added bonus to that popular discussion.

Please list your favourite place for wings add include any specials or incentives they my have i.e Half price wing nights!?!?!

Example; my favourite wings are The Tara Inn on Eglinton (Scarborough) Half price wings every Wednesday.

Duff's. No specials. None needed. Best in the city.

I will challenge that. Crown and Dragon imho is the best in the city and they have half price wings every Tuesday after 5 pm.

Duff's special is Tuesday night about $3 off.

Crown & Dragon half off Tuesday night Thursday night and all day Sunday.
C&D's best wings are breaded they do have unbreaded wings but they are cooked in advance and reheated. I don't like breaded but these are the best I have had.

Bull & Firkin (Yonge and Merton) half price on Saturday and Sunday.

I haven't been to Tara for a few years - too far away - but they were up there with the best.

Only because Anchor Bar isn't here.... I was completely turned off by Duff's vinegary sauce with no butter. Made me sick.

By far the best wings in the city are on Queen St West at Hot Wings Grill and Rib House
Large size wings , hot and fresh served with the most delicious fresh store cut fries .
Seven or eight large jumbo wings , not breaded and the sauces are delicious . About 20 different flavours . My favouritesare the lemon pepper and parmesan garlic . Great room and very pleasant waitresses provide great service . Prices are extremelly reasonable - Lunch every day and all day and night Teusdays only $ 7 .45 for a regular order and $14.50 for a large order . Even the regular prices at $ 9.45 and $ 17.45 are fantastic value -- A great little gem of a spot to hang out , relax and enjoy great wings . Other menu items such as ribs and pork look and smell great too . 5 flat screen TV`s for the sports games . I love this place

does any resturant have wings similar to Bar Bill's in the buffalo region? I dont understand why the wings here are so much suckier, while bar bill's is so super crispy...

Bar Bill's wings are the best I have ever had.
Whether or not they are crispier I don't know because I always order wings naked with sauce on the side (and often take my own sauce as well).
On a good night, Duff's and Tara come close in size and juiciness but more often are a bit overcooked and a bit dry.
I have wondered if Bar Bill's parboils as opposed to parfrying its wings.
Next visit I will try to go at a slow time and ask the cook.
