You May want to try Pietra on Boston Post Road

Wonderful Italian food in a white tablecloth place with elegant service. The main dishes truly serve 2 people. Wife and I usually order a salad (to share) and a main. Easilly within your budget, that way and more than enough food (we are not lightweights).

Many no meat items on menu

Or if Thai food is your thing I can suggest Taste of Thai in downtown Milford. You could eat well for $50.00 and enjoy some nice fresh tasty fare. I've never been disappointed.

Unfortunately, nowadays there aren't a lot of choices (outside of fast food) where your bill will be less than $50 for two. The many choices mentioned below are all worthwhile (though I personally find the Bridge House overpriced - I don't think you could get out of there under $60). You could share some tapas at Bistro Basque in the center downtown - but with a drink or two, your bill will exceed your price range. Stonebridge has some dinner specials that are discounted (though the portions for these special are small) - I think you can get a 3 course dinner (salad/soup, entree and limited dessert option) for around $13 if you dine before 6. Good luck!

Without alcohol, you can get a nice dinner for that price range in Milford at Bridge House, Johnny Ray's or Rainbow Gardens. I have had many better- than average meals at all 3. If you don't mind eating early, Bridge House has a great prix fixe deal that includes a glass of wine, and Johnny Ray's has been running a $25 gift certificate for $10 on Restaurant.com. Bridge House and Rainbow Gardens are also nice lunch options.

Do yourselves a favor and go to The Corner in Milford for breakfast.

While this makes it a bit over your budget, Bin 100 has a really nice $29 prix fixe menu with many choices for each course.
Bridge House is also worthy of a recommendation, but our experiences at Johnny Ray's have been mediocre at best (and strong rumor is that they are not doing well!). Additionally, our "go-to" place for reasonably priced Italian is Aldario's on Naugatuck Ave., where almost all entrees (with salad) are under $20
