Where can I get european style hot chocolate on the upper east side of Manhattan

Used to be Mariebelle, but sadly they closed their awkward upstairs location on the UES. Now they only have their Soho location.

I am a big fan of LMdC's hot chocolate if I'm forced to pick a second best.

Francois Payard has his chocolate bar in the lower level of the Plaza - 5th Ave and 59th.

Thanks for the tip about Payard (especially since it's across the street from my office). Do you know whether they're selling his wonderful macarons?

EDIT: I just found their website, and indeed the macarons are on the menu. Now my diet is definitely in trouble.

Have been there in person so can confirm that they do have his macarons there, though I remain a bit contrary in favoring Bouchon Bakery's (though I suppose those can endanger a diet much moreso than Payard's!)
If there is somewhere that serves Mariebelle on the UES, would recommend their hot chocolate. The closest I know of is Cafe Jolie, on 9th Ave, which has the full lineup.

          +1 for LMdC.

Also one of my favorite chocolate ice creams.

Agreed - Cafe Sabarsky's hot chocolate is very good, and it's a lovely place to sit.

Ambroeus also makes good hot chocolate.
