Tuthill House in Gardner

Wow. What wasted potential. Two recent visits...one worse than the next. Service unprofessional, food very forgettable, drinks very good. This could be a terrific place but they need to get their act together. First visit...long wait to be served, cold steak, lukewarm linguine/clams, very oily. Second vist...long wait again, ceasar salad had no croutons, asked for steak with no garlic. Claimed the garlic butter it came with was shallot butter. Please. Veal saltimbocca, dry and tasteless.
Dessert chocolare cake dry but good. Served wrong tea. No warmth, no sincere apology, just attitude. Too bad. I really wanted to like this palce

Went back for lunch...excellent. Lobster bisque to die for. Excellent burgers and good pastrami reuben. Fries were outstanding. Waitstaff was very good this time around but the hostess is still kind of unfriendly. Too bad...she could smile abit and make everyone happy!

wondering what's good around here. I go skydiving up here but it does not seem to have much in the area other than a supermarket and gas station. There's a deli close by but seemed very steep (8 for a mixed green garden salad...seriously?)

Gardiner- just south of New Paltz in the mid-Hudson Valley. I've heard good things about the Tuthill House, but haven't gone because the menu didn't look very interesting.
