David Burke Kitchen-mini sum-up
Food-very good, with teensy gaps. Duck splendid, short rib and bass dishes great. Apps, salad very nice (not a fan of the lobster bisque though-more visually exciting than tasteful); desserts were delicious, inventive and ample, as were the portions generally (I know it's gauche to care about portion size, but who wants to feel hungry after a meal?);
Service- waiter was a gem, hostess was not (we were 1/2 hr.late because of traffic but we called ahead, and they still gave the table away. It happens, though she could have been less snotty about it when we got there, -but others stepped in right away to try and fix it).
Decor-unexpected, faux informal, but it becomes the informal place it pretends to be and somehow it works.
David Burke was making it a point to say hi at each table at this new spot.
A nice evening.
The desserts are pretty limited and not all that good. It is a nice room though and good service. The cheesecake lollipops are the usual that every caterer has, usually they buy them frozen, not sure if DB makes them or not. The apple tart was fair. I'll have to go back for the food and try the dishes recommended above
