Brunch at Minette Tavern and Dinner at Torrisi's Italian Specialties for One

I am thinking about going to Minetta Tavern on Sunday and grabbing a burger at the bar. I wanted to know if this makes sense going on my own at 11am when the place opens. I was told there is bar seating and table by the bar for individuals to grab some grub and I wouldnt need reservations.

As for dinner at Torrisi's Italian Specialties, I wanted to pop in when it opened for dinner at 6 and grab the pre fix on my own. Does Torrisi's even allow indiividual customers to sit and have the pre fix considering how small the place is and how they try to maximize their profit margin by getting people in and out? I noticed some seating on the side which I believe is meant for inidivudal customers but I am unsure. Would I be ok heading their early one day and grabbing the pre fix on my own?

You should have no problem coming in and sitting at the bar for brunch at Minetta Tavern. The bar and bar area is rarely full for brunch. You'll be fine without a reservation.

If you wish to dine at Torrisi for dinner, show up closer to 5:45pm, as that's when the host actually comes out and starts taking names for dinner which starts at 6pm.

I don't think you'll have a problem at Torrisi - they have a small bar with stools - we were told not to put our coat on the 3rd stool because it was for "a single local diner" but was empty the entire time- that could be you!

I've eaten solo at Torrisi for dinner and was given a table. I've also walked in at 6:15 pm and there was no wait.
