DimSum in the burbs
I live in the Metrowest area. I would love to find a good DimSum place without having to go to Boston. Anyone have any good suggestions?
thanks!

I am told by a friend, she is from Thailand and her husband is from Hong Kong that the chinese place in Woburn, near the woburn mall is great. Last year they treated us to dim sum in Lexington at Yangkste (sp) River, very authentic, if that's what you are looking for.

Oriental Pearl in Saxonville area of Framingham has pretty good dim sum without the drive. It's a buffet with a cart every 30-40 minutes or so. Good selection of dumplings, hot and cold chicken feet, pigs feet, pigs ear, tripe, spring rolls, turnip cake, soups, noodles, clams/black bean, etc.Around $10-11.

There is also a special dimsum buffet at Lotus Flower in Framingham. Tried this for the 1st time about 3 weeks ago. Everything was very good. No carts or anything and not every buffet item is dimsum but still quite good.
Green Tea in Newton has a good dimsum menu as well.

Taiwanese dim sum can be had a Formosa Taipei in Lexington, however they don't really have seating or carts or the grumpy chinatown cart lady experience, which leaves you to mainly do takeout. They have a thorough Taiwanese dim sum menu- you name it, they have it, especially if it involves pork, or dough, or beef noodle soup.
