Girls Night/Birthday Dinner
Hollywood to Santa Monica ok. I was thinking Dar Maghreb "Like" I have fairly adventurous eaters, but do need a veggie or fish option available. Would like to keep it to $40 - $50 a person for food.
Where should i go?

well then.
first thought is The Bazaar by Jose Andres, though prices can add up if you order too ambitiously.
Fogo de Chao is a *tiny* bit above your price range but would be fun, and good for such a large group as long as the non-meat eaters are okay with diving into their massive gourmet salad bar.
another option that comes to mind is La Serenata de Garibaldi in Santa Monica. great food, festive atmosphere, plenty of fish & veg options, and they should be able to accommodate 20 people.
other thoughts:
- the patio at Primitivo in Venice
- the patio at Pane e Vino in WeHo
- Wilshire Restaurant in SM

GHG thanks for your suggestions.
The Bazaar, is a great suggestion, one that I love, but sadly may be lost on some of the guests and the price would surely go over the $40 a person.
Fogo is a no go, as i've been to Argentina and this food is NOTHING like the food in Argentina.
I love the Primitivo idea...always forget about that place and it is soooo good.

yeah, i thought Bazaar would be too pricey but i had to throw it out there :)
i say go for Primitivo. i've been to parties there and seen many others - they can set up a super-long table on the patio for you, and the vibe is perfect for a celebration.

The patio at Wilshire is fun and beautiful.
Beechwood can be good and their patio is nice too.
Just went to 31ten in Santa Monica and it might work for you.
