ISO the Toronto equivalent of So Good in Ottawa (specifically salt & pepper tofu)

Hello, is there a good chinese place in Toronto that makes salt & pepper tofu (sometimes called pepper-salt tofu). It's basically seasoned deep-fried cubes of tofu that are unbelievably addictive.

I haven't had much luck finding this dish in Toronto yet. Also, Wu Se chicken (which is chicken in peanut sauce, but not like a spicy thai style peanut sauce, it's more of a sweet sauce).

Green Earth Vegetarian serves a dish of deep-fried tofu cubes with a dish of oyster sauce. Not sure if it\s salt-pepper tofu but it is quite addictive because of the texture.

I love the pepper-salt tofu from So Good! Haven't had it years, though. Let me know if you find it in TO.

pepper-salt tofu ?! It can be found in many many Chinese restaurant in GTA ! Ever try Congee Queen, King or Wong ?

Aren't those pretty far north? I don't have a car -- and I don't wanna spend 1+ hours on the TTC -- so I haven't been up there.

Then go to Dynasty in Yorkville, they have it in their menu, have not tried this dish there though. I am pretty sure lots of Cantonese restaurant in China Town has this dish too, it is such a common dish.

Thanks for the suggestion - I haven't tried that place; I will definitely check it out, and Lai Toh Heen. I wasn't sure if it was a Cantonese or Szechuan dish either so this will help if I'm in China Town. Thanks so much!
