Does anyone know where I can buy puntarelle in Toronto?

  1. I've been looking for a while too but to no success. I know Splendido used to import their stuff... I've had to make do with regular chicory.

I know restaurants can get it, directly from the Food Terminal I believe. I'm just wondering if anyone has seen it in an Italian grocery store, or some such place. Like you, I've had no luck in finding puntarelle in the grocery isle.

    2. Bought Puntarelle today at Michael Angelos in Mississauga (Erin Mills Pkwy south of 403)....

      1. Lady York at Dufferin and Lawrence just had some Ontario grown puntarelle on Saturday

Now is the "proper" season for puntarelle in Italy, almost not to be found in Rome three weeks ago then all over the place two weeks later.
