  • Share

Coming in a week with probably hundreds of other Canadians for our March break.

Have a car but hoping for some suggestions for mid to upper mid dinners in the area or not crazy far for:

- Seafood/fish
- Italian
- Sushi

Not interested in touristy (yeah I know am a tourist), theme park restaurants.

Thanks!

while that sounds like a good place...cocoa beach is a lonnng drive from the reuion area of orlando

your going to be right near state road 192/kissimmee which has any kind of food u want to eat...
have u been to disney/downtown/boardwalk areas lately?
there is some very good food to be had around there...
wolfgang puck, cat coras ,flying fish cookes of dublin.. i have had great meals at disney
      ---search the boards also..
the ravenous pig gets good reviews also..but it is pricey and a bit of a drive away in winter park
i also like texas de brazil on the other end of idrive also
and i also like the kobe steakhouse and sushi bar for the hibachi grill
some of my family and i were just at the wyndham resort a couple of weeks ago..and we get to disney/orlando once or twice a year...
i used to go more on business for work..but not any more.. :-(

Haven't been to Orlando for a few years. Loved Emeril's Tchoup Tchoup (sp? sorry)

What are the current reviews on Cat Cora's new place. Interesting menu but from what I read, service is pretty bad. Anyone know if they fixed that?

    2. Reunion really isn't near anywhere, so options are limited right neaby.

For Sushi try Zen at the Omni in Champions Gate Resort nearby.

For Italian I HIGHLY recommend La Luce at the Hilton Bonnet Creek near Downtown Disney.

For seafood/fish, you might like Johnnie's Hideaway in the Crossroads plaza in Lake Buena Vista or maybe BlueZoo in the Dolphin hotel on Disney property

        Thanks YS.

Anyone been to the Big Fin Seafood Kitchen? Seeing different reviews.

It's good - unfortunately we don't have very good seafood options in Orlando, so this is one of the best options. Stick to the raw bar options and appetizers and you'll be ok. The regular fish entrees are fine, but nothing too exciting and like most seafood nowadays getting quite pricey. But at least it's not a chain.

I just wish we had a place that focused on local fresh catch simply prepared at reasonable prices

      2. It's not on your list of cuisines but Columbia Restaurant has very good Cuban, in a nice setting, and is located in Celebration.
