Contrary to the earlier thread that prima posted, we have only had great experiences at Osteria.......
Tends to be our go-to place before Massey Hall. Food and service have always been great. Having said that, you need to go early and let them know you have tickets so they will hasten the service.-----

re: prima
if rodney's by the bay (in thread posted) works in terms of proximity, then let me promote the gabardine at bay/temperance and if the sandwich/burger menu interests you then it is definitely well within your price range. i've been in and out of there in 45 minutes, just tell them in advance. the food service is a bit faster than the FOH service.

There's also Paramount on Yonge, just south of Dundas Square. But I haven't eaten there, so I don't know quite what it's like, but it should fall into that price-range. Lebanese/shwarma type stuff, I think.

re: Gary
Oh good god, The Senator is so overpriced even if you come in on budget you feel ripped off. Same goes for Osteria with bonus mediocrity.
I'll second Rodney's By Bay. Good service, good food, prices commensurate with the quality delivered.
