Moderate priced ($12-25 for dinner) near Massey Hall -Yonge and Shuter?

Any tips on places that are good with fairly fast service? Thanks

Queen and Beaver on Elm would fit the bill.

Contrary to the earlier thread that prima posted, we have only had great experiences at Osteria.......
Tends to be our go-to place before Massey Hall. Food and service have always been great. Having said that, you need to go early and let them know you have tickets so they will hasten the service.

You're not going to do dinner at Osteria for $15 to $25.

The hate on for Osteria all comes form one poster who needs to get over themselves. That said it does not fit into the requested budget in this case.

The hate for Osteria comes from more than just one person. You need to improve your reading skills.

if rodney's by the bay (in thread posted) works in terms of proximity, then let me promote the gabardine at bay/temperance and if the sandwich/burger menu interests you then it is definitely well within your price range. i've been in and out of there in 45 minutes, just tell them in advance. the food service is a bit faster than the FOH service.

There's also Paramount on Yonge, just south of Dundas Square. But I haven't eaten there, so I don't know quite what it's like, but it should fall into that price-range. Lebanese/shwarma type stuff, I think.

In my one visit to Paramount the service was excruciatingly slow and the food very salty. Definitely would not have wanted to be there if I was in any sort of hurry. Maybe it's improved over the past few months, I don't know.

I was there a few months ago. The service was fine. The food is still salty.

Your best bet is probably the Senator on Victoria just south of Dundas.

Oh good god, The Senator is so overpriced even if you come in on budget you feel ripped off. Same goes for Osteria with bonus mediocrity.

I'll second Rodney's By Bay. Good service, good food, prices commensurate with the quality delivered.
