Moving posts on chowhound

I feel those who contribute should have some say in where their posts are moved. Does anyone agree that having posts moved around here by chowhound staff sometimes isn't cool sometimes? I feel we as contributors should have the right to agree or disagree if threads we start are being moved. Can we delete it if we don't like it being moved or what are our options?

Added later> Chowhound staff if you want to remove this whole thread please do. You guys are good and love this place.

Why does it matter if the posts are moved? They aren't changing what is written, only where it is located. Posters frequently post on the wrong board, people like to go off on tangents, and sometimes the theme of the thread evolves. We are contributing to their site, under their rules.

      viperlush and donovt,

I was caught in a mood possibly due to other things going on not related to chowhound. Hit enter before should have. Continually find the chowhound staff knows what they are doing. It is nice to get another set of eyes on our posts. Timely feedback from people like you is also welcome here anytime! Thank you for posting a reply to me when needed it most.

        :)

Usually topics are moved from one forum to another because they are more relevant to a different forum from the one where they were originally posted. And the reasons for moving them are usually obvious. Hope that makes sense!

Am seeing that often the thread changes shape based on contributions. Yes, where it was first posted sometimes isn't the best place for it in the end.

When that happens, one option is to use the "report a post" button to ask the Chowhound Team if they might consider splitting the topic in two, each on its respective board. I've seen them do that on occasion. You've got nothing to lose by asking.

By the way, at some point this will probably be moved to site talk.
