Pizza Gigi still up and running?

I was shocked and dismayed to hear about the goings on at Pizza Gigi last month as it was my favourite take out pizza place downtown. Friday is pizza night for me and I want to order but I don't know if they're still open, any word on that? If not, can anyone recommend a similar pizza place that delivers to Kensington/Chinatown. Not including Pizza Pizza of course.

I'm torn between wanting to support the business and being fearful that given the latest legal troubles, the owner just might not give a s*it anymore and be producing an inferior product. Anyone order from there recently?

The only time I ever went to that horrible dump, the guy at the oven was having a smoke. The pizza was pretty bad, too (I'm Italian, btw). Couldn't care less if it never opens again.

Guess that's it for Pizza Gigi. Fond memories of the place. As a near-broke grad student, I never got charged the going rate whenever I splurged on a pie.

And now you know why. They didn't really need your money, just needed people coming in the door. Some bought Pizza and others bought oregano. :-)

Whatever. Back then, I doubt they, or whoever, was doing any dealing out of their then tiny shop.
