Burlington CSAs

  • 2

I moved up to Burlington in December. The days are getting longer, the sun is getting stronger, so I feel the need to find a CSA up here.

I'm looking for a half share for 2 adults who tend to eat meat as a condiment, not a main event. I can see there are lots of local option with price ranges to boot, but am looking for hounds with recommendations. I work down town and live in the Old North End, so pickups in town are a pretty strong draw. We bake our own bread, but cheese and eggs might be good options.

Any recommendations?

  1. Hi! Just saw this and I hope I'm not too late.

We've had a half share with Full Moon Farm for at least four years now. This year we are sharing the half share with another couple, becuase we have our own garden now. But it sounds like it would be good for you. (By the time August rolled around with the huge weekly share we started making and freezing different vegetable soups; chill and pour into giant ziplock bags and freeze them flat on cookie sheet, then stack in freezer. OMG is that welcome in mid-winter.)

The pickup is at Main Street Station (if they still have space there). They also offer cheese and other farm shares.

First pickup is in a week or two.

    Happy eating!

      Thanks MsMonet!

Since no one got back to me on the board, I walked around the winter farmer's market one day and talked to every vendor that offered a CSA. I wound up choosing Full Moon Farm on my own, but I'm very happy to get your feedback that I have chosen well!

Also, since the Intervale has experiences so much flooding, I'm feeling fortunate that I didn't go with one of them. (Though I have much sympathy for the farmers down there!)
