Going to Paris, looking for escargot!
Going to Paris mid-August would like to have a casual French dinner of escargot, bread and wine somewhere in Ile St-Loius. Recommendations, please.
Also, I'd like a recommendation for a lovely restaurant along the Seine in the 8th. Merci!

For snails, I second the above mentioned L'Escargot Montorgueil. We had dinner there last year with friends who thought the snails were excellent. The rest of the food has improved but overpriced. Except for the snails, entrees were around 35E and plats were about 45E. Can't beat the history and beautiful interior. Go for the snails and a glass of wine for lunch, then cross the street to Stroher for a sweet.
