Looking for a good Mexican Restaurant

I need a new place. All of the Mexican places I go are just so so (or good and popular). I need a new place around Los Angeles or OC (something new for my readers perhaps). It can be $ or $$$. Can you guys recommend some good mexican joints you go to? Thanks!

If you want a place that is real authentic and home cooked, try Las Chinampas in Whittier. There is also Raphael's in Montebello (Chile verde), La Parilla in East Los Angeles and, believe it or not, the Acapulco restaurant in Downey for their Sunday brunch. That is real good and you get all the mimosa's you can drink included.

La Cabanita in Montrose (Glendale) is fantastic.

La Casita Mexicana in Bell, very good, and they are getting a beer and wine license.

Have you ever seen this old thread? http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/540566 It would be worth your time to run through it and see if it gives you any ideas...

That thread aside, have you ever eaten at Teresitas in ELA? I highly recommend it for those who are looking for excellent, family style, Mexican food.
