Help needed with Boothbay Harbor area
I'm looking for a restaurant to cater a family event. I only need to pick up the food. I don't need set up, service or clean up. I'm want good food with reasonable prices. Someone recommended Sarah's Cafe in Wiscasset. I'm from Portland and not familiar with any restaurants in the area. Any help, greatly appreciated!

What type of food are you looking for? Midday meal or dinner? Weekday or weekend? What do you consider reasonable $$?
In general, I think you'll have better choices in Bath/Wiscasset than in BBH (especially this time of year).

re: HDinCentralME
Sorry, more details:
My immediate family is renting a house on Westport Island for a week in August, but we'll only have the extended family gather with us for one day during the weekend. We're having a relaxed bbq-type party, but we DO NOT want hot dogs and hamburgers and don't want to be bothered with grilling meats. We'll make the salads and desserts, but want hot apps and some sort of entree to serve. Considering we only want entree and a few apps, I'd say reasonable would be $20 per person.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

I think your original notion on Sarah's Cafe is a good one (should have some veg options), as is Beale St BBQ. Also consider Montsweag Roadhouse in Woolwich (heavy on the meat/seafood) and perhaps Mae's Cafe in Bath for lighter fare.

I suggest the Publick House in Newcastle. They have amazing food, at really reasonable prices. The owners are great to deal with as well. They are about as far from Westport Island as Bath, maybe a little closer. King Eider's in Damariscotta also has BBQ options, and also does catering. There's an amazing organic farm on Westport Island - Squire Tarbox Farm (part of Squire Tarbox Inn) they have fantastic veggies, fruit, honey etc. I think they have a farm stand in the summer.
