Frozen Egg Rolls in Bulk - Where to buy in San Gabriel Valley

gwleong Mar 2, 2011 10:26 AM

Anyone know where to buy frozen egg rolls, preferably with meat? Used to buy them at 168 Market in San Gabriel by the case.
Please advise. Thanks!

You could probably order it from your favorite Chinese or Vietnamese restaurant and freeze it yourself.

      How about Costco?

Rivera Food Service in El Monte.

        LAX-C in downtown LA.

Hey, thanks a bunch for the replies.....Costco only sells "Minh" brand eggrolls....very americanized. Rivera Food Service only sells vegetable egg rolls. (This is a very cool place by the way....sort of a Chinese Costco) Will check out LAX-C. Read some reviews of this place on YELP...quite amusing! Most say it's slightly geared toward Thai food...but I guess Thai egg rolls are pretty good too. Might go there tomorrow.

I think most Chinese restaurants make their own egg rolls and why you're having a difficult time finding them.

I'd be surprised if you find any at LAX-C. Since you'll be in the neighborhood swing down to Nick's Cafe on N. Spring Street across from the Cornfield Park and there are a couple Chinese cash & carry restaurant supply places, they may have a lead for you.

The Costco Business Center in Commerce has a special this week (ending Saturday 3/5) on frozen (probably Americanized) pork and vegetable egg rolls. I don't think they were the Minh brand they carry at the regular Costco's.

Most Chinese restaurants DO NOT make their egg rolls in house, assuming you are talking about American style egg rolls and assuming they have them on the menu in the first instance.

They're making their own won tons, not much more to making those crappy egg rolls they serve.

Like today at Costco Los Feliz, a company giving samples of their "gourmet" won tons which were tiny won tons with different meats for $9.99 a bag (1 pound bag). RIP OFF!

Not sure if Filipino egg rolls (lumpia) would fill the bill.
But, Seafood City has loads of different frozen kinds in bulk packages.
