Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Japan (including Tokyo)

Any recommendations on places/restaurants to try in Japan?

Will be going to Japan in April and staying for 2 weeks specifically in Tokyo, Kyoto, & Central Honshu areas. Any recommendations/suggestions on places/restaurants to hit up while I'm there? Would really appreciate experience & feedback from you all. :)

  1. Gonpachi in Nishi Azabu in Tokyo is a "must go." That's where PM Koizumi took both Clinton and Bush II (at different times, of course) for dinner when they visited Tokyo on state visits. Can't go wrong with that seal of approval.

      Gonpachi is also on many '100 places to see before you die' lists. And the first place I crossed off my Bucket List.
