Ba Le Sandwich is hands down the best. Federal and Mississippi. The sardine banh mi tastes like angels

Ba Le Sandwich on South Federal. I think the general consensus is that they're the best. They bake their own bread and used to be the only ones in town making a rice-flour baguette, but I heard word they're no longer doing so. But even without that, they make their own pate, mayo, pickled veggies, etc. It's the closest thing to the real deal I've found.

This might be the same place - my friends love it - Federal and Alameda - South West Corner strip mall, way int he back. ACtually, I google earth-'ed it and it's not the same place. My friends buy bagfuls when we have picnics.
