Seeking recommendations for good food (any cuisine) near Love Field

mhyrrbabe Mar 2, 2011 06:28 AM

Hi all,
I did a location search on the restaurant board and found about ten restaurants near Love Field, but only one is reviewed and rated on Chowhound - Samad Cafe. Any other recommendations for dinner near Love Field? Any cuisine is fine. I will be there six nights, so I need a lot of suggestions.

Celebration would come to mind, it's on the airport's East side. It's been around for a while, and the reason is that it has very good food. Started out as home cooking, guess you would now call it upscale home cooking.

Neighborhood Services isn't far from Love Field... maybe 10' drive?

Yeah same with a lot of Oak Lawn/Uptown/Knox-Henderson restaurants - think Parigi, Salum, Farnatchi, etc. Try searching for those areas too.

        Salum Restaurant

Samad Cafe is not the same as Samar, which is in Downtown. I have never heard of Samad Cafe.

Gracia CocoaNut...This small Persian place looks interesting. Hopefully it will be better than Kasra (Richardson on Arapaho) and Giovanni's (N. Dallas on Preston)

The food at Samad is ok - I like the small shop vibe... cooking and service done by one guy who's probably the owner too. But the food isn't all that great. It's not bad, but I wouldn't drive more than 3' to eat there.

Also a short drive away is Rise. It's at Inwood and Lovers.

Of course, Celebration would be my first choice but also close to Celebration on W. Lovers Lane is, Eden. Excellent food and, BYOB.
Just a bit further east from Celebration on W. Lovers Lane is Neighborhood Services (excellent!). And, Just off W. Lovers Lane on Inwood Road is Shinsei (excellent upscale sushi and Japanese food). Just east of Inwood on W. Lovers Lane is Campisi's. Casual pizza and Italian food in a comfortable contemporary setting. The setting is better than the food but it's, good enough. A few doors east of Campisi's is Dunston's Steak House. A Dallas institution for locals for over 50 years. All the steaks are cooked over an open fire. I like sitting in the back room near the bar. Not expensive, either. And across the street from Dunston's in Inwood Village Shopping Center is Cafe Istanbul for very good Turkish food. The Inwood Theater is there as well for good art movies and, a bar if you get bored of watching TV in your room.

Not sure about dinner, but Club Schmitz is a pretty bad ass place to check out for lunch.
