Options near Bloor & Kipling?
Hi Chowhounders,
My husband is going to be in the Bloor & Kipling area for work over the next few months. I told him I'd ask the experts for some good options for lunch or dinners that are close by.
Thanks for any help!

There is also Dundas St. Grill across from Kipling Subway Stn and Medium Rare.
It's good diner food- I always go and get grilled cheese with bacon, fries with awesome gravy.
Service is super fast, prices very reasonable. They also serve all day breakfast.-----

Not sure if Pasquale Bros still does sandwiches, etc. Might be worth a call since it's fairly close.

It's not that far from Kipling/Bloor-Dundas, so I'd suggest Brandt Meat's lunch counter. Great fresh, hot German food made with their meats from the factory about 30 ft away. They're only open Wed-Sat for lunch. It's in their factory store, itself worth a visit.

re: kwong
Sorry! Basically anything with their meat products, whether wurst, ham. or smoked pork. The sides are up to you. It's really a deluxe lunch counter but worth it for hot, fresh German comfort food. Save some time for a post-lunch waddle around the store, too. My only regret is the absence of beer. For that, you can try the Musket next to Dimp's on Advance, east off Kipling.

re: Kagemusha
I went to Brandt today. They had the 2 sausages + sauerkraut + potatoes for ~$4+tax. They also had the 2 sausages + sauerkraut + potato salad for ~$4.50+tax. I got one and my friend got the other.
The sausages were good, the potatoes and potato salad were good, but I didn't like the sauerkraut. Next time, I'll ask to substitute for rice.
They also offered Schnitzel, hamburger, and some other items that I can't recall now for about $6-$7+tax. I'm definitely going to go back next week and try something else there. Thanks for the suggestion!

Great pastizzi's at Joe's Pastizzi on the north side Dundas(in strip plaza) just east of Kipling. So yummy and $1 each or you can buy bulk to take home.
Spoon and Fork just opened on Queensway (in Zeller's plaza lot) east of Kipling. Good thai and they have a tasting menu which is basically order all you can eat.
He can drive south on Kipling to Lakeshore Blvd and there is lots of different food restaruants there and shops if he has some extra time to look around.-----

Babas: On Dundas, really tasty Shawarma and cheap
Kalamata: On Lakeshore, good greek food
Milanos: On Bloor, great pizza-----
