Weekend with our Tulane student
My boyfriend and I are going to visit my son for a weekend later this month. We've been to NOLA a few times in the past & have eaten at some of the major tourist places. This time I'm thinking about Brigtsens for Fri. night dinner & August for Sat. night. I was also reading about Mila, Stella, Bayona, Herbsaint and am VERY confused. Went to Luke's last time for brunch and would love some brunch and lunch recs. Thanks for your help.

Given those choices, mine would be Brigtsen's and Restaurant August.
Now, we love Stella!, and have had very good meals at Mila, but the first two are a bit above, though are different. Give me two more nights, and Stella! and MiLa would figure into the mix.
Have not dined at Luke yet. Bayona is great, and Herbsaint was, though long ago. OK, give me four more nights! [Grin]
Enjoy,
Hunt

I would go to August for lunch and get their prix fixe lunch special. I would go to Stella or Bayona for dinner. Coquette has a great brunch as well as Cafe Atchafalaya. Good luck.

re: ocdgirl
I like Ralph's but you will have to drive or take a cab. If you are staying in the FQ I would go to Mr. B's. Mr. B's has great food but it's kind of dark there. Ralph's is nice and bright. There's also outdoor dining on their 2nd floor porch. If you don't mind a short drive to City Park then Ralph's is nice. There's a nice view from the porch. I would include Emeril's in your plans in place of August or Brightsen's for dinner. Go to August for lunch. Brightsen's is nice but it's a 15/20 minute drive also. You can walk to Emeril's.

Sorry to drive you crazy, but I have been reading mixed reviews about August and I don't think we want anything that formal. I could cancel both Brigtsens & August & do Emeril's, Bayonna, Patois, Lilette or Coquette. Your thoughts?
