Kuti's on 116th st

rose water Mar 1, 2011 08:35 AM

This tiny little hole in the wall near morningside park has been around for over a year, but I don't know that it's gotten its due on chowhound. The staff is friendly and warm, and the wonderful lamb shawarma I got last weekend was packed with tart slices of pickle, thick steak fries, hot! hot sauce, and crisp, flavorful pieces of lamb. the saffron rice with stewed peas in a lemony tomato sauce alone is totally worth getting.

Thank you for posting! I have also searched for Kuti's on the board to no avail. I have been several times, the lamb shawarma is indeed wonderful and tender. The chicken platter is delicious too, still trying to figure out the spicing on that one. Reasonable prices too. For those who remember Korhogo 126 in Brooklyn, the former chef is the owner at Kuti's.
