Where to buy Austrian schnaps in Bay Area?

Absonot Mar 1, 2011 07:47 AM

I just read about Austrian schnaps in Saveur and I'm dying to try some - made by Hans Reisetbauer or Golles specifically. Anyone have any suggestions where I might find them?

Are you referring to austrian bierschnaps? If so, the closest/only thing you'll find here in the US is Classick Bierschnaps from Essential Spirits in Sunnyvale. And i think the only place to get it locally is K&L in Redwood City

Ah, thanks. DEFINITELY something different then I was thinking. I hadn't heard anything specific austrian except for bierschnaps. Appreciate the education

Beltramo's and Weimax have the biggest assortments of unusual liqueurs in the area. Both have Reisetbauer gin, they might be able to special-order other stuff.
