My nephew returns from a year in Afghanistan and I would like send him and his wife out to dinner someplace nice. They are more steak/fish place oreinted, rather than Cambodian street vendor/Aslatian tacos, etc. Any help appreciated, I'm up in Seattle, and haven't been able to find this in my search of the SD board.

Thanks!

There are a few places in Temecula, but I have not been to them personally. The Pechanga Casino has The Great Oak Steakhouse (http://www.pechanga.com/Dining/TheGreatOak.aspx
)There is also Vail Ranch Steakhouse (http://vailranchsteakhouse.com/) or if they are a little adventurous, the Roda Viva Brazilian Steakhouse.
Good for you to give him such a nice homecoming. We have a nephew who is now at Ft. Lewis that come back from there last Nov.

Pechanga Resort and Casino has hotel packages for $129 a night and that might be nice.
Stayed there a couple of years ago and it was fun to gamble, eat and drink for the night.

With wine country, you have a wealth of options. A good number of vineyards have restaurants and they're all catering to the foodie set. Plus, you don't get much more romantic than a vineyard.
