Got the Reservations to El Bulli!!! Now need help???
I got that magical email confirming that I have in fact scored a table for El Bulli in April. We are flying into Barcelona. What is the best way to get to Roses- renting a car, train???
Also, I hear that the dinners are almost five hours long. So staying the night might be a good idea. Any advice on hotels or pension. We need nothing fancy, just a place to crash.
Thank you in advance for all of the help!!
I'm making the 'trip of my life' to Europe this summer and I'm looking for some way to get a reservation at el bulli. Reservations are closed. Restaurant is closed july 30th 2011. I am in europe from the end of june to july 7th. Any suggestions? Waiting list? Please PM if there's any secret tips you don't wish to post publically! :)
No problem. If I were going before you I would post after my trip and give you more details but my reservation isn't until the 20th. I was just going off what was told to me and I'm pretty much winging it based on previous boards :) I will also try Raffa's. Post back when you come back and let us chowhounders know how it all went.
Almadraba Park Hotel is one of the nicer hotels I liked in Roses that people mentioned on the boards. Apparently it's on a beach and they let you book for only a day if you want. I guess they know that people really only come for El Bulli.
As a side note, I also read good things about Raffa's, so you may want to try it the day before going to El Bulli. I read that Adria himself goes there for lunch.
I have the same issue. My reservations at the end of April. My husband and I are driving from Barcelona and will stay in Roses. Have not picked a hotel yet but there are a bunch of posts on Chowhound from 2009 and 2010 so I may just pick something listed there. However we will take a cab to the restaurant because we plan to drink and from what I've read the roads can be dangerous near there.
We typed "roses tourist board" into google and this is what we got: http://www.roses.cat/en/Turisme/Abans...
It is an easy drive from BCN (motorway most of the way then a good A road) but the train then a hire car may work better, I am not certain if Roses is on the rail mainline so changes may be tricky. Do get a taxi to the restaurant the road there is very twisty.
