Slider + Pliny the Younger at Hopmonk Tavern in Sebastopol
Friday I gave into the Pliny the Younger fever and made my way to Hopmonk Tavern in Sebastopol to catch the 3pm tapping and meet up with some friends. A very mellow scene at that hour, and plenty of parking in the lot even, yet the keg would be emptied in less than four hours.

Pliny was $8 per glass or paired with a slider, $10. A couple of us sprang for the combo, including me, and were really impressed.
The sumptuous slider: 4 oz Angus beef, lemony aioli, white cheddar, tomato chutney. The thick and juicy patty, cooked medium-well, had great grilled flavor and deep beefiness. I loved the tomato chutney, spiked with spicy golden raisins, and the little bun was just perfect for the bundle. Normally two for $10.

I’m not much of a beer drinker, but I’ll certainly return to try more of the food.
FWIW, the Sonoma location will be tapping Pliny soon.
