Lunch in Milford, NH

Heading to Milford with our two boys for the train show on March 19. It's at the high school. Looking for somplace to go for lunch. They are 1 and 2, but great eaters and they do well at restaurants. Where would you recommend?

We had a good lunch at Riverhouse on the Oval. BLT and grilled cheese with tomato. Heirloom tomatoes, local bacon, local lettuce. These folks get it.

Is Rustic Leaf an appropriate location? Are they family friendly?

How is the pizza at Foodees?

Here are our go-to restaurants to get an idea of what our family likes: Lucia's Tavola, Shira Kiku, You-You's. Used to hit up Saffron Bistro a lot. MT's when the in-laws are in town. Cedar's Cafe for take-out.

Rustic Leaf has a children's menu and at lunch time I would think is appropriate (a friend wants to take me soon and insisted it would be fine to bring my child). I cannot recommend Foodee's for pizza, and from our past discussions on here, I am assuming you would not enjoy the pizza there, or anywhere else around here. If you like Lucia's, it's really not that far from Milford HS. Milford doesn't have anything in the way of more ethnic/adventurous food....if you decide on Chinese there is at least the new Cherry Blossom which is owned by Lotus Blossom. The other places on the oval are good stops for burgers, sandwiches, and breakfast if someone is still in the mood for that.

Didn't realize how close Lucia's is....unfortately it appears they only do lunch on Sunday. So I think we'll try Rustic Leaf. I always enjoyed Seedlings so hopefully this will be as good or better.

If you liked Seedling's, you will like it. I haven't tried it because it happens to be a bit expensive for us to enjoy as a family and the menu didn't quite appeal to me...each selection seemed to have such a long description/ingredient list that I had a hard time choosing any one thing. Most people I know have really enjoyed the food, I have only heard complaints about the atmosphere (for a place that seems like a great date place, it's not very intimate).

Enjoy the train show, my kids loved it last year, it's huge!

Giorgio's has a pretty reasonably priced lunch menu. I like to get several appetizers instead of an entree if you want to share stuff at the table.

never understood the appeal of Giorgios..very overrated, and certainly not authentic Italian..even looks like an Olive Garden. Been there two times, and never again..Got a calzone at lunch one time, and pulled over 20 cloves of WHOLE garlic out of this thing..disgusting. not minced, crushed, flavored. WHOLE.

Riverhouse Cafe is the best in the area (under the new ownership/vision) for breakfast/lunch, imo

There's always the Red Arrow Diner.

There's also always McDonald's...but really, the other places around the oval offer great family atmospheres and simple food at decent prices. I personally have not had any good experiences at the Red Arrow, and would prefer to not spend my money or time in there.

OK food, shit service. I won't be back. Need to try Riverhouse Cafe, which I have heard good things about.
