'ethnic' groceries & ready-made food?

Hi everybody!

Will be visiting Montreal in March for a week and will be eating out most of the time (DNA, La Banquise, St-Viateur bagels, Alep/Le Petit Alep, Les Trois Petits Bouchons, Kitchen Galerie + Poisson, Schwartz, Toroli, Au Pied de Cochon, La Chronique, Restaurant Laloux) and visiting Jean-Talon Market several times. There are also some food souvenirs spots on the agenda (+JTM, duck-related items at Le P'tit Plateau...etc.) to take away to Europe.

That said, there are still some gaps in the day and I would love to have your opinion on some neighbourhood pockets for ethnic groceries (Korean, Japanese, Caribbean...etc.; I am not particular) that also offer ready-made food that I can heat up at the hotel (it has a fully fitted-kitchen).

I have tried to find similar threads on the Board, but have came up with this:

But, having read this other thread and looked at google map, I realised that non-chain ethnic grocery stores might be a better option:

I am staying around La Place Philips, and am relying on public transportation the whole time, so if you can recommend areas within 30-mins travel-radius, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!
