This was my second visit this year. My friend and I went at 5 to sit at the bar. We had the place to ourselves for a good hour. The bartender chose a lovely Hahn pinot noir. My friend chose the shephard's pie and pomegranate salad. I chose the escargot cassoulet and 6 Wellfleet oysters with a cucumber mignonette. The apps are half price til 6. What a deal. My food was great..the cassoulet very rich with white beans and duck and I think a panko stuffing..I ate the escargot and left most of the rest (really full from the oysters and bread)..oh oh the bread and olive oil was great. My friend is from England and said the pie was good, not wow, but she does make her own. She relished her salad and ordered a Tieramesu to go. What a cozy spot. LOVED it on a rainy night.

I went the week before you, Phelana. I really like the food there. Had the cassoulet last time I was there and it was perfect for a cold winter night. This time I had the venison and it was perfectly cooked.
I have to say though that I am always a little disappointed the service in dining room. The waitstaff seemed a little spaced out and simultaneously slow and giving us the vibe that they wanted us out of there.
I think eating at the bar like you did is the way to go.

My date and I went Wed. at 6:30. It as my third time this season and his first. It was very romantic and fun. Missed the half price apps but had a lovely shrimp cocktail. He loved his seafood pasta dish. 4 wines, one app, one entree and two after dinner cocktails was 98.00 plus tip. Great wine...super romantic...they are closing Monday for a bit.
