Black vs pinto beans

I have a recipe that calls for black beans. My family is not crazy about black beans but love pinto beans. Can pintos be substituted for black without loss of texture. This is not a bean recipe as such. It is a mexican pot roast made in the slow cooker.

    Absolutely sub without fear, and you may find that pintos are more appropriate for that type of recipe than black beans.
