Muir Glen Fire Roasted Adobo Tomatoes

Any one else love these? I use them in chili, in spanish rice, in any latin dishes that call for tomatoes.... I usually still need to add additional spices but I love the smoky base they provide and they way they just pick the flavor up a notch over plain tomatoes

I always have then in the cabinet now. Would love to hear other ideas for these or their other versions (green chili, chipotle, etc)

Salsa, soup, mexican lasagna, quick enchilada sauce, add to eggs, mix with mayo, avocado, or hummus for dips or sandwich spreads. It's not spicy, really more a deep, smoky flavor.

      Tortilla soup?
How's the heat level in the tomatoes?

Oh, good call. I've been thinking about starting a search for a good tortilla soup recipe.

I'm probably not the best judge because I love some heat in my food but I don't think there's a lot of heat, maybe low to medium?.

my friend loves the "houston's tortilla soup," and there is a clone (or two!) recipe on the web. here's one from "recipe goldmine." http://www.recipegoldmine.com/cchhot/...
