Celebrating Birthday in LA

LadyAnne Feb 24, 2011 08:29 PM

I live in San Diego and recently heard that the Grammy Museum is really cool. Since my birthday is Saturday, March26th I thought it would be fun to go up to check out the museum then get an early dinner before heading back to SD. I would really like to find a restaurant where young celebs go because my 8 year old daughter and 22 year old sister would get a kick out of seeing someone famous. My hubby will be with us too but I don't think the celeb thing is that important to him. Any recommendations for a cool restaurant where celebs frequent? My daughter is very adventurous and will eat anything. I am sure that eating at 6 or 7pm might hurt our opportunities but any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

There's nothing downtown, your best bet is probably the recently revamped Il Sole.

    Il Sole
8741 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069

i've seen a few at angelini cafe on beverly, but we're talking kevin costner & jamie gertz, so that's not young hollywood but it was still cool.

You could try either Mozza restaurant. Plus even if you don't see anyone you still get a great meal.

        Pizzeria Mozza
6602 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90038

        Osteria Mozza
6602 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036

I love the Pizzeria Mozza suggestion. A lot of the younger celebs eat at Joans on 3rd. The Glee girls were at Comme Ca the other day. Good food.

Do celebs still go to the Newsroom on Robertson? Years ago (when the place used to be awesome) i'd see celebs there frequently. also, what about Madeo? i LOVE the food, plus paparazzi is staked out there too, at least they were the time i went.

          Madeo Restaurant

when i thing of "young celebs" i DON'T think "early dinner."

for the most part, early dinner is not what they do.

i like the mozza recommendations in terms of their allure to the celebrity crowd.

maybe instead of early dinner, you find a popular lunch spot?

A popular lunch spot could also be an option ...it'll be a later lunch so we can enjoy the museum.
