This great Thai-Isan (North-Eastern) restaurant is located in a Thai-style house in a quiet street off Paholyothin Road. There are 2 wooden terraces surrounded by green outside, and inside you can enjoy the air-conditioned space on two levels decorated with Thai art.

The standard Isan fare like som tam (papaya salad), kay yaang (grilled chicken) and sticky rice is delicious, but the special mushroom dishes and ice cream desserts are worthwhile too. Of course the beer bottles are big. The service is friendly.

I personally went to the grand buffet at the Erawan hotel, which is just a bit down Sukhumvit at Rajdamri Road, and I thought it was fantastic! Give them a call at 02-254 1234

Cross over Sukhumvit, using the handy BTS platform, then head east, to soi 11. Turn left and head up to Rosabieng, across the street from the Ambassador Hotel.

You might enjoy Central Chitlom's Food Loft. It's an upscale food court, offing many options. Walk to the Nana BTS, then take that 2 stops west, to Chitlom. Hop off and head up to Central's top floor.
