I'm turning 22 on Wednesday, where should I go for dinner?
Okay so I just moved here about 2 months ago. I’m looking for something up-scale.
I've read a lot about so many restaurants but because I'm new to the area I am at a loss! I guess I'm aiming towards French cuisine, but it's open for discussion.
Money isn't really an option; I want a good atmosphere, good ambiance.
I'm in pastry school so I am always looking for out-standing desserts; the place MUST MUST MUST have a fabulous dessert selection.
Basically what places have the best food with just as good desserts?
THANKS
Oh and maybe BYOB? I'm from the DC area and we don't have that luxury!

re: jarona
Bibou for the French food. superb. Wonderful for your 22nd birthday celebration. Make an early reservation, like 5 or 5:30 pm, and you will find it easy, not impossible, to get a reservation. (((BYOB//Cash only)) However, re superb dessert and French upscale (divine) food in the same evening? May not be realistic. After that kind of meal dessert is an anti-climax.
Suggestion? A birthday week. On a different day, perhaps with different friends, go to one of the suggestions above for dessert and coffee as the feature, not a sophisticated, blow-out dessert after a fine meal.

Just a few of my fave desserts in the city
Salted Caramel Budino - Barbuzzo
Polenta Budino – Osteria (can’t wait to have one tonight!)
Marscapone Cheesecake – Mercato
All desserts at Modo Mio – I haven’t tried their new Restaurant Monsu yet but I’m sure they’re all delicious too!
And of course for French desserts - Le Bar Lyonnais›1 Reply-

JL is right on with Bar Lyonnais... one thing you might consider is a progressive dinner. A friend of mine for his holiday party started at Village Whiskey... went to Monks (hes a beer fan... ) and finished up at Le Bar Lyonnais for the dessert cart.
Also big shout out for the desserts at the Four Seasons. Another option for dessert only.
Polenta Budino at Osteria has to be one of my favorite desserts in the city.
If you want french cuisine in the city it begins with Bibou.. full stop. Cochon or Bistro La Minette are other great options. A place I like but do not love is Bistro St Tropez in the Design Center. Nice view of the skyline at sunset.. food is ok and its not BYO.
