Quality Italian north of Market?

  • 8

I like Delfina a lot, but it might be more convenient on this Saturday night to eat somewhere north of Market--North Beach, Nob Hill, Russian Hill, Polk St. This would be a birthday dinner for a couple and a well behaved teenage girl (it's one of the adult's birthdays). I wouldn't really be looking for a pizza or a "red sauce" place for this meal. Suggestions?

Thanks, I like Pesce, but I don't think it's what I'm looking for this time, especially since my daughter is a fish hater (we're working on it). I haven't eaten at Milano or the other three, they all seem promising.

Easier parking around there on Saturday night than in the neighborhoods mentioned.

        2. Seven Hills on Russian Hill is excellent (from 1 visit, anyway).

          1. A16 or SPQR are both close to that area, and I think better than the North Beach options, especially if you're wine drinkers.

Seven Hills, mentioned above, was my other thought, but I haven't tried it yet. Waldron, what did you have?
