Lunch recs in Walnut Creek

I'm going to be in Walnut Creek for lunch this Sunday. Seeing as I'm a city girl, I'm not familiar with the area. What are your go-to recommendations for a good meal out there? Anyplace particularly interesting? Thanks!

  1. I really enjoy Va De Vi, although you'll have to spend a little to get full

    1. Two of my favorites are Lark Creek Cafe and the new Eleve.

      Eleve Restaurant & Bar
1677 N Main St, Walnut Creek, CA 94596

      1. Chopin Cafe is a longtime chowhound fave. Great homestyle Polish/Eastern European food at an unlikely location (in a middle-of-nowhere strip mall).

        Chopin Cafe
1574 Palos Verdes Mall, Walnut Creek, CA 94597

        1. While neither of my suggestions are technically in the Creek they are where I would go to lunch when I used to have to go to Walnut Creek for work occasionally. I really like the Sichuan dishes at Sichuan Fortune House in Pleasant Hill. I also really like the tacos dorados at Tortilleria El Molino as well as their chips and tortillas. This is a counter with a few tables, not the place for a leisurely lunch, but really irresistible. Writing this almost makes me want to go back through that darned tunnel.

          Sichuan Fortune House
41 Woodsworth Ln, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523

          Tortilleria El Molino
1500 Monument Blvd Ste F, Concord, CA 94520

          1. Sasa does a hip japanese-fusion thing that we like. They are open Sunday at noon for lunch.
