I've gone a couple of times and was pleasantly surprised with the food. The NY Steak is just as good as Dan Tana's and on the menu it comes in just one size, but you can get it bigger if you wish. They also have a filet that is served with Blue Cheese raviolis which was also tasty. I love their corn off the cob with jalapeno, even off season, it's super sweet and corny:-). Their chopped salads are good too.
I also heard that the pizzas are good and Craig raves about the Honey Truffle Fried Chicken, it's a breast off the bone, but they also have regular fried chicken too. We've gone mid-week around 8ish and it's been packed! It's a nice neighborhood kind of place, not a destination. I like the old school feel of the place with the comfy booths and the bar area is nice too because it's not too cramped.
We were at Dan Tana's last night (Mon, 8:30) and it is still packed!! I thought with Craig's opening many people would be over there and DT would be a little dead...not so...
Overall, I think Craig's is the type of place that you are either going to hate it or love it just like Dan Tana's;-)

Unfortunately, the last couple times we went wasn't as good. I think that Craig may be a little overwhelmed. I had the Honey Truffled Fried Chicken and it was a little on the dry side. Still haven't tried the pizza, but I still like the steaks.
We've been going back to Dan Tana's more instead, when we want to go to a neighborhood joint;o)

Had a fun night and tasty food. Specifically, Craig works the door and the house and was on it; id say maybe a bit overwhelmed too but the service took a little while but was polished and professional and all steaks etc came cooked to order. NY strips had that salty black char on outside I like; sides tasty, i liked the fried potato and onion strips best, kind of like fries but some were onions. Others at our table had halibut picatta which was lemony and tasty with capers, lamb chops and a pork chop with fruit topping. no doggy bags. Desserts included a chocolate bread pudding which was very tasty. Atmosphere was bustling but not Dan Tana's either. Id certainly return but I will also return to Tanas for the veal carl malden and the spumoni and other favs. Thanks hounds for the info.

Good to hear that you enjoyed Craig's. Thanks for reporting back :o)
Love the Spumoni at Dan Tana's, I always get it to go. If you like Linguini & Clams, get it Posillipo Style, it's so good, my husband always orders it like that!

They are definitely open...or at least you can walk right in. Unfortunately, without a reservation the wait was about an hour for a table. They will let you eat at the bar (or even standing at the ledge behind it) but we were beat to seats a couple of times so I can't comment on the food.
It was primetime on a weekend, but the place was packed. The funny thing is that we tried to walk into Dan Tana's just before without any luck as well and several people that we talked to at the Craig's bar had done the same. Seems like it will be an automatic overflow.
