Midtown restaurant recommendations?

Need a recommendation for a restaurant in the midtown Atlanta area. Looking for great food and great atmosphere. Price isn't an object, but I'm not looking for a white table cloth kind of place. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

  1. check out Ecco and Veni Vidi Vici [No. Italian]. Ecco is very popular and can get a little loud, is less formal, good 'small dishes' options. Classy seafood at Oceanaire.

    1. I like the Vortex for burgers (fun atmosphere, too), South City Kitchen, Tierra, and Tamarind Seed. I also like to sit at the bar (it wraps around the open kitchen) at 2 Urban Licks. That place is a zoo/scene on the weekends and loud but it's fun to watch the chefs cook.

        Vortex in little 5 is the real deal, don't be fooled by the one in midtown! Little 5 is very close as well. I think you will get better food in virginia highlands versus midtown. I would go for highland tap if you want steaks, 4th and swift if you want awesomeness, or try Agave if you want something unique to the east coast.
